Nowadays, children and young people in Bulgaria are exposed to easy and cheap access to new psychoactive substances that are distributed on the Internet. They are many times stronger, cheaper and more accessible than “traditional” drugs. They are often in the form of jelly candies or vapes. Use usually occurs at nightclubs and gatherings. Adiction can occur in a very short time, and health and mental consequences can develop quickly! At the same time, children and young people in Bulgaria are subject to other addictions such as alcohol and gambling.

We at Children of Bulgaria, Inc. are launching our new campaign with the ambitious goals of:

– Helping institutions for rehabilitation and reintegration of children and youth with addictions in Bulgaria;

– Finding and implementing ways to prevent the creation of addictions among Bulgarian children and youth.

We will start by supporting the “Faith, Hope and Love” center in the Gabrovo region and the “Open Eyes” center in the city of Varna. Please share if you know other centers or have ideas on how to help with the rehabilitation and prevention of addictions for children in Bulgaria!
